Overview
This Privacy Policy explains what information JobSimplified (“we”, “us”) collects, why we collect it, how we use it, and the choices you have. It applies to our website, our services, and any client account you hold with us.
We built JobSimplified to work for the job seeker. That principle extends to your data: we never sell it, we never share it with employers, and we collect only what we genuinely need to run your job search.
Information we collect
We collect information in three ways: what you give us, what we generate while running your search, and a small amount collected automatically.
Information you give us
- Account & contact details — name, email, phone, and password.
- Career materials — your CV, cover letters, LinkedIn profile, work history, and the target role, salary, and locations you share on the discovery call.
- Payment details — processed by our payment provider; we never store full card numbers.
Information we generate
- Rewritten CVs and cover letters, application records, recruiter responses, and the notes your career manager keeps on your search.
Information collected automatically
- Standard log and device data (IP, browser, pages viewed) and cookies — see below.
How we use your information
We use your information only to deliver and improve the service you paid for:
- To rebuild your CV and LinkedIn, and to apply to roles on your behalf.
- To manage your account, process payments, and provide support.
- To communicate with you about your search — weekly reviews, interview alerts, and service updates.
- To meet legal and tax obligations.
Legal basis for processing
If you are in the UK, EU, or another region with similar law, we process your data under one or more of these bases:
- Contract — to deliver the service you signed up for.
- Legitimate interests — to run, secure, and improve our service, balanced against your rights.
- Consent — for optional marketing emails, which you can withdraw anytime.
- Legal obligation — where the law requires us to keep certain records.
How long we keep it
We keep your information for as long as your account is active, and for a reasonable period afterwards to meet legal, tax, and dispute-resolution obligations.
You can delete your account at any time from your dashboard — we purge your personal data within 30 days, except where we are legally required to retain specific records (such as invoices).
Your rights & choices
Depending on where you live, you have some or all of the following rights over your data:
- Access & portability — get a copy of your data, or export it.
- Correction — fix anything inaccurate.
- Deletion — ask us to erase your data.
- Objection & restriction — limit how we process it.
- Withdraw consent — opt out of marketing at any time.

How we protect your data
We encrypt data in transit and at rest, scope access to your assigned career manager and writer, and follow SOC-2-aligned practices. No system is perfectly secure, but we treat your career materials as sensitive and guard them accordingly.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as our service evolves or the law changes. When we make a material change, we’ll update the date at the top and, where appropriate, notify you by email. Continued use of the service after an update means you accept the revised policy.
